National Youth Leadership Training
This year Long Beach is teaming up with Verdugo Hills Council to offer our National Youth Leadership Training!

Dates
February 13-15 & February 19-21, 2027 (this is a 6-day course presented over two weekends)
Times
Weekend 1: Saturday, February 13 at 7:00AM – Monday, February 15 at 5:00PM
Weekend 2: Friday, February 19 at 6:00PM – Sunday, February 21 at 5:00PM

Cost
Early bird registration! $375 through January 9th
$400 after January 9th
Fees include all meals and training supplies
Who
Open to all registered Scouts BSA, Sea Scouts and Venturing youth members that meet the following requirements:
- Be at least 13 years old for Scouts BSA
- Be at least 14 years old for Sea Scouts or Venturing Scouts
- Have achieved the rank of First Class (or equivalent Sea Scout/Venturing Scout rank)
- Have completed unit level leadership training (ILST, ILSS, ILSC)
- Have your unit leader’s recommendation
- Mark your calendars NOW!

Your registration is not considered complete until we receive your Unit Leader’s Recommendation form. Completed forms may be emailed to Course Director Wendy Danna at the email link below, or sent by mail to the Council Office. Once we have received your Unit Leader’s Recommendation, we will contact you to inform you that your registration is complete. Unit Leader’s Recommendation form must be received within 2 weeks of your online registration or your space on the course cannot be guaranteed.

NYLT NEEDS YOU!
If you are a youth member in Scouting (including OA members, Sea Scouts and Venturing Scouts under age 21) who has completed NYLT, we want you for our youth staff! Please email John McGlynn, Course Director, LBAC-NYLT-2027
If you are an adult leader and would like to serve on our adult staff, please email John McGlynn. Previous NYLT or Wood Badge experience is not required for all adult staff positions. Want to learn what your scouts are learning? Join us and find out!

REFUND POLICY: All fees are due no later than January 9, 2027. If a paid participant needs to withdraw their registration prior to December 9, 2026 there is a 10% refund processing fee. Participants who withdraw after December 9, 2026 but before January 9, 2027 will be charged a $100 refund fee. There are no refunds after January 9, 2027. A 50% refund will be issued in the case of a medical issue and a Doctor’s note will be required. Any participant who has registered but does not come to the course forfeits their entire registration fee. There are no refunds for participants who do not return for the second weekend of the course.
