National Youth Leadership Training
Dates: June 16-17-18 & June 23-24-25, 2023 (this is a 6-day course presented over two weekends)
Times: Course runs from 3:00 PM on Friday through Sunday at 5:30 PM
Location: Camp Tahquitz, 41700 State Hwy 38, Angeles Oaks, CA 92305
Cost: estimated $300 (includes all meals and training supplies)
Who: Open to all registered Scouts BSA, Sea Scouts and Venturing youth members that meet the following requirements:
- Be at least 13 years old for Scouts BSA
- Be at least 14 years old for Sea Scouts or Venturing Scouts
- Have achieved the rank of First Class (or equivalent Sea Scout/Venturing Scout rank)
- Have completed unit level leadership training (ILST, ILSS, ILSC)
- Have your unit leader’s recommendation

Your registration is not considered complete until we receive your hard-copy application which includes the Unit Leader Recommendation form. Completed forms may be emailed to Course Director John McGlynn at the email link below, or sent by mail to the Council Office. Once we have received your completed application with your Unit Leader Recommendation, we will contact you to inform you that your registration is complete. Completed Application forms must be received within 2 weeks of your online registration or your space on the course cannot be guaranteed.

If you are a youth member in Scouting (including OA members, Sea Scouts and Venturing Scouts under age 21) who has completed NYLT, we want you for our youth staff! Please email John McGlynn, Course Director, LBAC-NYLT-2023

REFUND POLICY: All fees are due no later than June 1, 2023. If a paid participant needs to withdraw their registration prior to June 4, there is a $10 refund processing fee. Participants who withdraw after June 4 but before June13 will be charged a $60 refund fee. There are no refunds after June 1, 2023 except in extraordinary circumstances. Any participant who has registered but does not come to the course without prior notification to the Course Director or the Council forfeits their entire registration fee. There are no refunds for participants who do not return for the second weekend of the course.
