The Long Beach Area Council is committed to offering a wide curriculum of training classes for Scouters to improve their leadership and outdoor skills.

Fall 2019 Classes
Climbing and C.O.P.E. Training
This training is for anyone (16 and older) wishing to become a COPE or Climbing Instructor.
Instructor-in-Training (IIT) must be at least 16 years of age.
Level 1 Instructor , at least 18 Years of age.
Level 2 Instructor , at least 21 Years of age.
Dates – all are mandatory. Must attend all listed below to complete training.
- Saturday, August 24 at Long Beach Sea Base (Ground School , 8:30AM – 5:30PM)
- Friday, September 6 at Camp Tahquitz (Check-in , K-Lodge , 6PM – 9PM)
- Saturday, September 7 at Camp Tahquitz (On site practical)
- Sunday, September 8 at Camp Tahquitz (Test & Final)
