Camp Tahquitz Work Parties
Winter is finally ending and it’s time to begin preparing the camp for the summer. Unfortunately, due the heavy, late winter, there is a lot to do in a little time. There is a Council work-party scheduled for 6/17 beginning at 9AM until 4PM. We will provide hot dogs, chips and drinks for lunch.
In addition to the scheduled work party, I can accept help any day you, your family, your Troop, or your Pack can support the camp. In appreciation of this help, each person will receive a Camp Tahquitz t-shirt. The only weekend I will be unavailable is 5/13-5/14.
The work needed this year include: commissary clean-up following a raccoon invasion, road repairs (using cold patch/gravel), spreading wood chips, clearing trails, power washing the pool, clearing brush and piling for future chipping, fence repairs, string trimming, picking up trash along the property boundaries left from snow players ☹, and so many other things I cannot list. Needless to say- there is plenty of work.

Open For Year-Round Camping

More than just Summer Camp
You can rent the camp for tent camping or even utilize the cabins and Kiwanis lodge for your unit or group. Spring at Tahquitz is also a beautiful spot to start your year out camping and taking in your first hikes. You can even stay at Tahquitz while you go up to Big Bear.
Not Just for Scouts
Camp Tahquitz is open to all organizations for rental use as well. We are happy to host reunions, retreats, family reunions, or your organization’s socials.
