We are pleased to announce the selection of Marc Bonner as Scout Executive of the Long Beach Area Council in Long Beach, CA, effective January 16, 2022.
Marc began his Scouting career in 2008 as a District Executive at the Long Beach Area Council in Long Beach, CA. He was promoted to Development Director in 2014 and Assistant Scout Executive in 2018 in the same council.
Marc is an Eagle Scout who enjoys playing basketball, traveling, spending time with his family, and finding new coffee shops.
Marc and his wife Jen have two young children Carlen and James.
Please join us in congratulating Marc as he joins in partnership with the volunteers and staff of the Long Beach Area Council to deliver quality Scouting experiences to the young people of the communities they serve.
Marc joined the Long Beach Area Council in 2008. For six years, he served the cities of Lakewood and Bellflower as the Polaris District Executive. In 2014, he was promoted to Development Director overseeing all council funding strategies, donor relations, public relations, communications, and special events.
In July 2018, Marc was promoted to Assistant Scout Executive, retaining his prior responsibilities while assuming leadership of the field operations team primarily focused on membership growth.
In January 2022 following the retirement of John Fullerton, Marc was selected to be the 11th Scout Executive of the Long Beach Area Council.
Marc and his wife Jen live in Lakewood with their two kids. They enjoy traveling, eating ice cream, and spending time with family and friends. Marc also enjoys playing basketball, shining his shoes, and rooting for UCLA athletics.
Marc was born and raised in Long Beach. He is an Eagle Scout from Troop 65. Marc holds a bachelor’s degree from UCLA and a Master of Public Administration from USC with a graduate certificate in Nonprofit Management.
