SCOUT LEADER TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES
One of the key elements that sets Scouting apart from other
youth organizations is the emphasis and insistence that every
leader be trained in their position. Training is available
at all levels and offered several times throughout the year. Our Scouts deserve trained leaders. Refer to the available Training below:
Roundtable & Afterguard (Monthly Supplemental Training)
These are monthly informational meetings for all leaders. The program at these meetings centers on the next monthly theme to be presented at your unit. Helpful hints, activity ideas, ceremonies, games and other useful information are presented. Leaders who attend roundtable meetings are making use of a great resource to help them do their job. Cub Scout and Boy Scout roundtables are held at 7:30 p.m. on the second Thursday of each month at Will J. Reid Scout Camp. The Sea Scout Afterguard is held the first Thursday of the month at the Aquatics Sea Base. Great fellowship with other Scouters happens at the same time.
Fast Start Training
This video is designed to immediately orient leaders to the
Scouting role before their first meeting with Scouts. Each Pack, Troop, Team and Crew should have a Fast Start video
to show their new leaders.

those programs, and our values and methods.
