Internet Rechartering
Packs, Troops, Teams, Crews
Long Beach Area Council, Boy Scouts of America

Very soon, a representative from each unit in Long Beach Area Council will be able to go online and address all information necessary to renew the unit's charter agreement for another great year of Delivering the Promise of Scouting to your youth.

Using the Boy Scouts of America Internet Rechartering Module, the recharter representative for your pack, troop, team, or crew will be able to indicate returning members, add new members, promote members from units in the same Charter Organization, and update information for the charter organization or any individual in the unit.

A complete set of instructions to recharter online will accompany your official recharter packet. The unit kit will include the same materials as in years past, including a printed roster. The Internet Rechartering process will greatly assist your unit and the Long Beach Area  Council in compiling and maintaining the most accurate and up to date unit information.

The Internet Rechartering system is also designed to integrate Packmaster and Troopmaster software. If your unit currently uses this software you may upload your roster information directly into the Internet Rechartering program.

How to Use Internet Rechartering:

Each unit in the Long Beach Area Council will select an adult to serve as the unit's charter renewal processor.

Additionally, anyone in your unit who desires to learn more about how Internet Rechartering works can take the interactive Internet Rechartering online tutorial and view the online help information.  The Internet Rechartering Tutorial is now available through the link above.

To Renew a Charter Online:

1. Sixty days before your unit´s expiration date, select a renewal processor.  The renewal procedure must use Internet Explorer.

2. The renewal processor attends the Recharter Training to receive training, the Recharter Packet, and the unit access code.

3. Sixty to 45 days before the unit´s expiration date, the renewal processor clicks Recharter Now and begins the process.

4. When the online process is completed, the renewal processor prints the completed charter renewal application.

5. The unit leader and the chartered organization representative sign the charter renewal application.

6. Bring the renewal application, youth and adult applications and other material you received in your recharter packet (such as the Charter Organization agreement), to your district leadership (such as a Unit Commissioner, or District Executive). All BSA registration fees and Boy's Life Subscriptions will also be due at that time.
